If you or your family feel that you need to lose weight, there is free help and support available to adults, and children and young people aged over 5 in West Sussex.
If you are an adult with a Body Mass Index (BMI) over 25 then you are eligible to access a weight management programme. Contact your local wellbeing team for more information about what is available that best meets your needs.
If you don’t know what your BMI is, you can work it out on the easy-to-use NHS website BMI healthy weight calculator.
Public health nurses (previously called school nurses) can provide advice and support for children and young people aged up to 19. If you are worried about a child (up to 19 years) who is outside of a healthy weight, the contact numbers for your local public health nursing teams are here.
