What is a Men's Shed
There is now a new way for men to pursue their interests, develop new ones, belong to a unique group, feel useful, fulfilled and have a sense of belonging. A Shed’s activities usually involve making or mending in wood (e.g. carpentry, joinery, turning, carving, whittling, marquetry, furniture renovation) but may include metalworking (milling, sheet metal, welding, etc.) bike repair, gardening, electronics, tool renovation, boat renovation, model engineering (model railways, planes) and even building a car!
Welcome to Sothbourne Men's Shed
Southbourne Men's Shed is a meeting room for all 'older' men living in the area who like to remain active and socialise with other men of the same age group without commitment.
It has well-equipped workshops where men can follow a hobby or interest, share skills, work on small individual or community projects, or just sit, relax, chat, and enjoy a cuppa or two in good company.
So why not join a group of men who can unite to finish a group, community or personal project or, perhaps, work alone on a hobby or interest whilst in the company of others.
The Shed is a haven where men can make new friends and share a joke, an idea, or an experience. A place where men can engage with others, or just read the paper or a favourite magazine.
Southbourne Men's Shed is a non-profit, non-affiliated, non-political, non-religious group whose members enjoy having somewhere to go and something to do for a few minutes or a few hours a week at minimal cost.
Southbourne Men's Shed is run by its members for its members.
We meet every day of the week EXCEPT ON WEDNESDAYS
