“Just one at the end of a long day”, “A glass with dinner”
It is recommended to not exceed drinking 14 units of alcohol per week. 14 units is the equivalent to six small (175ml) glasses of wine or six pints of 4% beer/cider/larger.
Alcohol Awareness Week is a good opportunity to consider your drinking habits and the amount of alcohol you consume. Does it affect those around you? Do you wake up with parts of the night before totally missing from your memory? Are you fed up with hangovers every weekend?
Alcohol is linked to more than 60 medical conditions including liver disease, heart disease, some cancers and depression, and in 2015 there were 8,758 deaths related to alcohol in the UK.
